THE SCROLL: Thyatira
(Study 5-D)

The word "Thyatira" in Greek means "Odor of Affliction." It also means, "Continual Sacrifice." In this Church age, we will examine the continuing effects of the marriage between the Church and the world that took place during the time of Pergamos. Also, an example of a wicked queen from the Old Testament records is provided by Christ Himself to help readers understand the events that are taking place in this period of the world's history and the effects of false teachers and prophecies.

The Timeline Series has thus far sought to enable a reader to turn to any section of the Bible and understand the times and conditions of the events recorded. This last section, The Scroll, seeks to aid Bible students in using the principles gained from studying the Scriptures for discerning the signs in history and in the world around them to this very day. "Blessed is he that readeth... and keep those things which are written therein," says John of his visions, "for the time is at hand." (Rev 1:3)
